Idionity seeks to explore topics of neurodiversity, personality, psychology, and philosophy. Whether you view personality as something physical, cultural, or merely philosophical, there’s something for everyone.
This project started many years ago when I came to the realization that tools like MBTI could help me understand why I wasn’t connecting to other people and what I could do about it. After devouring everything I could on the subject, I discovered the Enneagram and have been hooked ever since. These things became special interests of mine. It wasn’t until I began exploring some of my mental health conditions (OCD, anxiety) that I discovered the possibility that it was more than personality that set me apart.
About AJ Thomas
I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (formerly Asperger’s) at the age of 31. Living life as an undiagnosed person on the spectrum made certain challenges harder, but because of them I discovered a passion for personality theory and all things psychology. I have a B.A. in philosophy, which I put to good use by spending entirely too much time researching irrelevant pursuits. But here I am!
I am non-binary and do comics and essays. I like mental systems of organization, little plastic boxes in every color, and garnets.
My goals in life are to publish, to speak publicly at conferences, lectures, and workshops on topics of my interest, and to explore as much craft beer and micro-roasted coffee as possible.
I’m also passionate about spiritual topics, good conversations, and cats.
I go by Ballast on Personality Cafe.
